My medication was delivered quickly and the instructions were thorough. My only criticism is that I don’t think there was enough of a warning about the level of pain you may experience. My medical abortion was the most painful thing I have ever experienced in my life. The decision to have an abortion was not easy and came with many emotional trials and tribulations. I got off of work, took the second medication right after dinner, put on a large pad, lined the bed with a towel and went to sleep. When I woke up, I felt like I was having a heavy flow day. Yeah there were some cramps, but I stayed on top of the provided pain medication schedule. As a person who is a complete baby with pain, I was rather shocked that I wasn’t a mess. The bothersome part was the heavier bleeding. I couldn’t miss work and only had like 22 hours rest before I was back at the job. I wore the large pads and had to change them every two or three hours at first. They were not soaked, but enough to change them. I passed maybe four clots that were thin but I would say sizable. I also passed a longer whitish and pinkish colored tissue. It was probably the thickness of a cigar that you see in the movies and maybe the length of a mechanical pencil. That was a shock, but I believe it helped me to understand that the procedure was completed. The only real pain I felt was when I was on the toilet a couple days after, maybe two or three times, there was a sharp cramp, kinda like gas pressure. It was uncomfortable and I didn’t like it, but it wasn’t that bad. The highest level of pain, from a person with a very low pain tolerance was maybe a 4-5 but only with that last few incidents. As for the day of and cramping I would say maybe a 2-3. Mind you I didn’t keep taking the pain medication after the first day because I thought I didn’t need it. I would recommend taking it at least the first three or four days. I am grateful to have had this opportunity because I know my life would have been filled with torment and abuse. No woman or child deserves a life like that.
