Hey Jane allowed me to terminate my pregnancy early at 5 weeks, when my doctors wouldn’t see me until 8 to 10 weeks. It was the first time I’d done an abortion and was incredibly scared and I wanted to get it done as soon as possible. I was able to do it comfortably in my home and it was no less comfortable than a normal period. I knew if I waited for the doctor it would be more painful and the baby would be more developed. It doesn’t make sense that this is “woman’s care” in New York State - to not see me until later in my pregnancy. I also had multiple in person doctors cancel on me. I cannot thank Hey Jane enough for supporting me through this decision and helping me so quickly.
