This week, an initial draft of the Supreme Court's opinion on Dobbs v Jackson was released—showing the court plans to overturn Roe v Wade.

This is not the final opinion—which means that abortion is still legal in the US. You can still go to your abortion appointment, you can still make an abortion appointment, and you can still get an abortion in all 50 states.

But if this draft decision is implemented, it would give states the right to ban abortion completely. At least 26 states are certain or likely to do so. Overturning Roe v Wade is an incredible attack on individual liberty and equity, and would have devastating results—especially for Black, brown, and Indigenous people, young people, and low-income individuals.

As a telemedicine abortion company, we are here to help people get the abortion care they need. We're going to keep mailing abortion pills to people seeking treatment, and we're going to keep supporting our patients—because abortion care is healthcare.

If you'd like to join us in the fight for abortion access, sign up to be a Hey Jane ally and be the first to know about upcoming actions.

Looking for ways to take action right now? Here’s what you can do:

1. Donate to your local abortion fund

Abortion funds have been and continue to help people get the care they need. They are able to help cover costs for those who need assistance paying for abortion care—but are completely funded by donations. Now more than ever, they need your support. You can find your local abortion fund through the National Network of Abortion Funds (NNAF), donate to NNAF directly, or donate to one of Hey Jane’s official abortion fund partners:

- ACCESS Reproductive Justice (funds patients receiving treatment in California)

- Chicago Abortion Fund (funds patients receiving treatment in Illinois)

- Cobalt Abortion Fund (funds patients receiving treatment in Colorado)

- Indigenous Women Rising (funds Indigenous, Black, or undocumented patients; patients traveling from Texas)

- National Abortion Federation Hotline (funds patients in every state Hey Jane is in)

- Northwest Abortion Access Fund (funds patients receiving treatment in Washington)

- West Fund (funds patients receiving treatment in Colorado and New Mexico)

2. Donate to a practical support organization

Some organizations help coordinate and/or pay for “practical support”: transportation to and from clinics, hotel stays, childcare, and other logistical needs that might come up when accessing abortion care.

As more and more patients are forced to travel for treatment, there will be even more of a need for practical support. Please consider donating to a practical support organization, such as the Brigid Alliance or Jane’s Due Process (which helps people under 18 get abortion care). You can also find your local practical support organization through Apiary Collective and donate to them directly.

3. Spread the word about medication abortion

Abortion care by mail is now likely to be the most viable form of access for many people seeking an abortion. But while the majority of US abortions are now medication abortions, only 1 in 5 people know that this is an option. It's imperative we educate people about this option

Let’s put the power back in people’s hands letting them know their options. Shout Your Abortion has a toolkit for sharing information about abortion pills, and Plan C can send you stickers and flyers to help spread the word about medication abortion.

About Hey Jane

Hey Jane is a telehealth abortion provider that connects pregnant people seeking medication abortions to FDA-approved medications. After confirming that you’re eligible for our services here, you’ll speak with one of our licensed abortion providers. After that virtual visit, we’ll ship your abortion medications to your door. They’ll arrive in 1-5 business days (depending on your shipping method) and in an unmarked box to protect your privacy. We’ve organized some resources and a page of frequently asked questions if you’d like more information on managing your pregnancy.

If you have any questions about Hey Jane—or finding the best option for you—feel free to text us directly at (405) 643-7957.
